What Is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a complementary therapy based on the principal that all systems of the body are mapped out in the reflex points on the feet, hands and ears. By using specific thumb and finger techniques, the practitioner stimulates approximately 7,500 nerve endings in the feet.

Reflexology opens up discussion with the client as to what’s going on in the body through what is being presented through the reflexes on the feet. It is in no way a diagnosis, and shouldn’t be used as one, however it is a very powerful way to become more consciously aware of your body on both a physical and emotional level, as well as taking back power of your own health.

Reflexology is a preventative complementary therapy, and I highly recommend to all, that even if it’s once a month, you see a Reflexologist. Keep in mind we are on our feet all the time, and they hold our whole body weight! It’s very important to take equal care of our feet as we do with any other area of our body. Prevention is important, as it means we are doing what we can for ourselves to reduce the possibility of future trauma to our bodies.
